The Real X-Files

Dr Helmut and Marion Lammer

Several weeks ago I received an interesting manuscript entitled MILAB. The authors, Dr. Helmut Lammer and Marion Lammer, believe that serious crimes are being perpetrated by certain covert military agencies involving "alien type" abductions allegedly being carried out on humans. Dr. Lammer, a Ph.D. known for his work within the Space Research Institute in Austria, created "Project MILAB" in order to investigate these crimes. The Lammer's have taken on a study in an area of Ufology which is often ignored by researchers. Their new publication is well presented, and although it may not be everyone's belief that "alien type" abductions are being carried out by, or aided by our own military machine's, the book is a must for all UFO researchers bookshelves. MILAB, being the acronym for "Military Abductions of Alleged UFO Abductees", is a compilation of cases that are both shocking and extremely disturbing, and are not recommended bedtime reading.

The authors back up their claims by offering declassified CIA documents relating to mind control experiments, an area we are all too familiar with. Bearing in mind that in most countries, kidnapping/abduction, is a capital offence, these cases should not go ignored if we are ever to get close to understanding what is going on.

MILAB reads like a ten part series for the X Files adventures. "Black Ops", black helicopters, underground bases, implants, mind control and abductees being drugged and examined by military doctors dressed in white lab coats - is just a taster of what you will find in this publication. But this, we are told, is not science fiction!

It is refreshing that MILAB is not an ego publication to promote the authors, inasmuch as it offers well earned credit to those whose research and experiences have contributed to making this an excellent read. Notables in the field of abduction research, such as Dr. Mack, David Jacobs, Budd Hopkins and numerous others are brought into the fold and their theories examined, as are the victims of these so called abduction scenarios. The book also covers the MK-ULTRA experiments, including its offshoots, and as aforementioned, the Lammer's have included ample information for researchers interested in delving further into this highly complex area of contemporary abduction.

The Lammer's dedicated research in this field, is, in my opinion, an important contribution to ufology.

Britain's Most Famous Ufologist Hits the Media Yet Again!

In recent months, Nick Pope has been accused, amongst other things, of being a media tart. Excuse me, that was my nickname for the star of stage, screen and press exposure! Over lunch recently with our mutual literary agent, I was asked if I was doing his publicity because he certainly has been in the limelight these past few years. "No, I have had nothing to do with it." I said. "All I do is post his Hot Gossip column to researchers on the Internet because he is not yet on-line." As a trained publicist/PR myself, I have to salute Nick for being so popular with the media, but then he did do media training with the Ministry of Defence. I suppose you can't get better than that. After all, their standard line for damage control: "It is of no defence interest" has certainly stood the test of time.

The May/June edition of UFO Magazine is out now, and I was interested to see that Nick is featured in a number of articles, as well as having his picture on the front cover. In fact, aside from this, I counted eight other photographs of him in various articles in the magazine. He was somewhat amused at this, especially as one of the articles specifically deals with accusations that he's becoming too much of a media tart! This main feature concerns Nick's response to some of the criticisms that have been leveled against him by a small group of conspiracy theorists who doubt his word simply because he works for the Government. It's a feature that's bound to upset some people, but Nick's never been one to walk away from criticism, and his bullish response is certain to provoke further debate.

Whatever you think about Nick Pope, his media popularity has contributed to bringing Ufology into a more positive forum. My own contacts in the media tell me how refreshing it is to deal with an individual who can at least be taken seriously. That's a great bonus, after all, we know how powerful the media are, and whether it's Nick Pope or anyone else for that matter, the very fact that the media in general are paying attention to this subject, is, in my opinion, a great leap forward!

Announcement

I regret to announce that this may be my last issue of the UFO section until November. However, Nick Pope will still be writing his popular column.

The reason for my temporary departure is due to a deadline I must meet in finishing my book on the "Rendlesham Forest Incident", which is being published next year by Sidgwick & Jackson - Macmillan.

For those of you who are not familiar with the case, it concerns a series of unusual events that took place in rural England in December 1980. The case, which has often been referred to as "Britain's Roswell", involved USAF personnel stationed at the twin British bases of RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge.

The title of the book, for the time being at least, remains a closely guarded secret.

I'll keep you updated

Thank you for reading my column for Hot Gossip UK. Please note, I will still be editor of the magazine.

[UFOcity.com Editor's Note: Although we will miss having an additional monthly column by Georgina, we wish her every success with her upcoming book. Having spent almost ten years researching the same subject for Left at East Gate: A First-Hand Account of the Bentwaters-Woodbridge Incident, It's Cover-up and Investigation (co-authored with larry Warren), I, for one, will be most interested in seeing where the trail has led Georgina. Expect a major contribution to our knowledge of Great Britain's most significant UFO event from this talented and hard-working writer/researcher. Godspeed, Georgina.]
